Hey there,

Alexandra feels honored to join her clients on the therapeutic journey and to foster a sense of courage in individuals who are choosing to reflect on and understand their emotional landscape. She places an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, as she believes healing occurs from within—when our stories are witnessed and attended to by an attuned listener. Alexandra hopes that this practice of attunement in therapy extends beyond the therapeutic space, as clients learn to attune to and tend to their own emotional experiences, leading to a life characterized by physical and emotional well-being. In her practice, Alexandra emphasizes psychoeducation and collaboration to equip clients with the tools necessary to navigate their emotional landscape. She seeks to fill in the gaps with resources to increase clients’ confidence and capacity to gently peel back the layers of their being in order to discover who they are at their core.

Alexandra’s foundational theoretical orientation is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a values-based approach focused on moving clients toward a life worth living. She holds the belief that we are imperfect humans who will stray from our values and, as a result, from actions that align with our authentic selves. However, Alexandra reminds her clients that any small step back toward their values is a step back toward who they were created to be—how hopeful!

In addition to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Alexandra integrates techniques and frameworks from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, and Parts Work. She is passionate about working with individuals navigating grief and loss, relational distress, adult-child and parent relationships, and life transitions. Alexandra has a special interest in inner child work, as well as supporting parents through parent coaching sessions. Additionally, she recognizes the importance of cultural considerations in the counseling space and seeks to collaborate with her clients on how these factors impact their therapeutic treatment. Alexandra would be delighted to answer any additional questions regarding the therapeutic process.

What clients say about Alexandra

Alexandra really helps me to feel seen and has helped me find peace with the workings of my inner landscape. I have learned to slow down and greet all of my feelings with kindness and compassion, even the challenging ones. I am more mindful of my feelings as they emerge, and slowly, I am welcoming a sense of curiosity instead of judgement. Meaningful transformation takes time, and I am slowly learning the power in surrender.
— Former client
Alexandra has helped me cultivate a stronger sense of mindfulness and has improved my capacity for treating myself and others with compassion. I now have a toolkit for managing my emotions in a healthy way. I would describe Alexandra as kind, warm, collaborative, receptive, integral, strong, brave, and courageous.
— Former client
I started seeing Alexandra after having been with another therapist for several years and I couldn’t be happier with our work together. She has incredible insight, and she’s skilled at listening to my thoughts and being able to extract and synthesize issues to work on. Not only is she affirming and encouraging, she also gives helpful feedback and can identify potential things to work on and helpful ways to move forward.
